These three pillars are the common thread in the SWITCH Six Steps methodology, the interplay of methods, procedures and practices that we follow when executing projects for our clients:

1. Pre-scan

  • Making a blueprint of the current situation
  • Determining the target levels per framework domain (ISO, NIST, CIS, etc)
  • Reporting the total overview (radar spiderweb diagram)
  • Performing discrepancy analysis
  • Executing vulnerability scans and possibly penetration testing
  • Issuing an advice note and making a proposal for an improvement plan

2. Project definition

  • Define scope, budget and timeline
  • Choose the best suitable security framework (NIST, ISO 27001, NEN 7510, CIS, SOC 2, etc.)

  • Define roles and responsibilities
  • Set and prioritize goals
  • Define deiliverables

3. Execution

  • Setting up the Information Security Management System (ISMS) 
  • Choosing the controls within the defined framework based on risk management
  • Translating the chosen controls into technology, people and procedures
  • Implementing the agreed improvement plan

4. Review

  • Checking the deliverables
  • Subsequent calculation of budget
  • Subseqent calculation of time
  • Perform an internal audit

5. Adjustments & Finalization

  • Adjustments as a result of the first internal audit
  • Final internal audit 
  • Selection of an external audit agency
  • External audit
  • Certification

6. Aftercare

  • Security as a Service (SECaaS)
  • Security Operations Center ( SOC)
  • Managed Detection and Response (MDR)
