The role
As the Mechanical Engineer your main tasks are related to the development process at our client according to the PGP (Product Generation Process), the products you develop are being produced under the same roof, which gives you a unique link with your own product.
- Feasibility phase: studies the Customer Requirement Specifications (CRS) and the feasibility of mechanical components
- Definition phase: provide a description of the system design requirements and specifications
- System design phase: generating the system design concepts and reviewing
- Comes with well-considered choices, validated with the system requirements
- Definition of the high-tech modules and related technical interfaces
- Monitor that projects remain within the agreed specifications
- Uses helicopter view and creativity to find solutions in case of conflicts
- Detail phase: be part of a team of (lead) designers / architects of approximately 10 to 15 people
- System verification: Verification of the requirements of the design / chosen concept
- Production Release: Release of the design for production
- Contribute to the system roadmaps
- Participate in the further development of required critical mechanical competencies
- Setting priorities within the mechanical team and reporting regularly to the project manager
- Providing direction to the Way of Working (including using the V-model, PGP process, design reviews, engineering change process)
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Minimum of 5 years in precision mechanical development in a high-tech environment.
- Proficient in design principles, precise positioning, dynamic behavior, material properties, cleanroom environment, design for reliability, vacuum design rules, and DfX methodologies (Value Engineering, Manufacturability, CoG, Reliability, Serviceability).
- Capable of performing simple strength calculations;
- Experience with NX and Teamcenter.
- Out-of-the-box thinker with a helicopter view
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English
- You have a clear and structured way of reporting
