System Integration Engineer

City: Eindhoven
SWITCH has space for an System Integration Engineer to join a dynamic team at our customers location in Eindhoven. 

The job mission:
As a System Integration Engineer, your mission will be to drive the integration, verification, validation and hand-over of advanced technology systems by ensuring that various software and hardware components work together seamlessly.
You will play a pivotal role in the formulation and implementation of integration strategies such that our products meet the highest standards of performance and customer’s satisfaction.
Your comprehensive knowledge of system functions and components will be instrumental in achieving a reliable system and ensuring quality assurance throughout every phase of product development.

Your responsibilities will cover these main areas:
  • Quality Assurance:  You will make sure that verification and validation of requirements is carried out according to test plans and best practices. You will share your expertise on system architecture and integration processes with delivery stakeholders, both internally and with customer teams, fostering a collaborative and informed environment. You will manage machines configuration, maintaining an up-to-date and clean configuration for hardware, software, and electronic components.
  • Troubleshooting / Problem solving: leveraging on your comprehensive knowledge of the system and its components, you will be a crucial link between multidisciplinary development teams and non-technical stakeholders. Your advanced troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the diagnostic methodologies and tools will be essential in solving challenging multidisciplinary problems, identifying and resolving issues proactively, preventing them from escalating.
  • Machine operation: as the primary responsible for test setups you will be the expert in the operation of machines and test-rigs. You will advise and provide support to development teams on testing procedures and machine usage. Moreover you will automate machine operations to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Your daily tasks will include:
  • Reviewing / Creating test plans for verification of requirements.
  • Conducting system validation activities, including checking for regression.
  • Troubleshooting and issue solving.
  • Developing issue reporting and tracking procedures
  • Navigating and managing relationships with delivery stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Coaching multidisciplinary teams on machine operation and best practices
  • Defining integration strategies for seamless system functions and modules assembly.

Your profile:
  • BSc and/or MSc level - Technical
  • You have at least 3-5 years of relevant working experience
  • You have expertise in troubleshooting Machine Operation and Automation
  • You have a strong understanding of integration tools, test plans, and quality assurance frameworks, and proficiency Python and Matlab
  • You have excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
